Matt joined the Practice in 2002 and became a Partner in 2012. He is an experienced architect, key client contact and team leader who is responsible for overseeing the work of staff in Studio 1. Since becoming Senior Partner in 2016, Matt also has responsibility for heading up our two Kent Studios.
Matt is involved with projects from inception through to completion and has been responsible for the successful delivery of a number of award winning projects including Home Farm in Sellindge. His area of expertise is residential work which ranges from strategic masterplanning of large development sites through to high quality bespoke houses.
Matt’s design flair, attention to detail and practical experience of the planning system has resulted in an impressive record of securing planning consents for both public sector and private clients over his many years at the Practice. Recent projects include the regeneration of the mixed-use Victoria Road development in Ashford, incorporating the recently completed Curious Brewery for Chapel Down, and the residential re-development of the former Powergen site for GRE Assets.
Matt held the position of sessional design tutor at the University of Kent, Canterbury for several years and was the Chairman of the RIBA Canterbury and District Branch.
Matt values quality time with his wife, young son and dog and enjoys squash, kayaking and all things movie-related.
