Part 1 Architectural Assistant
BA (Hons)
Herbie joined Hollaway in 2023 after graduating from the University of Nottingham.
His final year thesis project looked towards the issues surrounding climate change and its associated sea level rise. Stipulating an accelerated sea level rise this has allowed the project to look at how a floating architectural intervention could be integrated within an existing urban grain, as an extension to the ‘town’ itself rather than existing in isolation. Herbie believes that it is important to test and experiment with the possibilities within architecture, so that if the worst comes, we can be proactive rather than simply reactive.
Herbie assists Mark’s team in London’s Studio 2 working on projects of varying scale across different sectors.
Outside of the office you will tend to find Herbie close to water, whether he is in it or looking at it. It is not that surprising that his love for the water bleeds into his architecture.
