As we move into 2019 and anticipation rises for the delivery of the world’s first multi-storey Skatepark in Folkestone, ‘F51’ for Shepway Sports Trust, we’d like to share with you a time-lapse video which has captured last year’s progress on site.
The video shows the extraordinary processes that have been taking place in constructing the bowl floor which is suspended five meters above ground.
As well as the three skate floors (bowl, flow and street) the urban sports park includes a café, function room, boxing gym at ground floor, and bouldering room and a climbing wall on the first floor.
As the construction of the three floors progresses the sheer scale of the park can now be fully appreciated. Current progress takes us to the pouring of the concrete underway up until the third and final floor, the construction of the lift shaft, and the start of the internal fit out.
The structural concrete bowl will be topped in a specialised concrete skate finish layer to create a competition standard skate bowl.
Hollaway is look forward to the completion of this exciting project later this year, and keeping you posted with updates in the meantime.
