Hollaway studio are pleased to have been a key part of the restoration of Boys Hall which was originally built in 1616 and is Grade II listed. Located on the southern edge of the North Downs in Kent, Boys Hall has undergone months of restoration to transform into a beautiful restaurant with rooms set within 3 acres of grounds.
Boys Hall was built in 1616 and extended in 1632 by the Boys family, who had previously been known as De Bois, having landed in England from France at the time of the Norman conquest. It was formerly known as Boys Hall Jacobean Manor, surrounded by three acres of gardens. In its history of more than 400 years, the building has been a home as well as being used to host weddings and conferences, and offering luxurious bed and breakfast accommodation. The Manor has hosted some incredibly interesting guests over the years. Charles I is thought to have stayed at the home while in hiding from Oliver Cromwell. Samuel Pepys, the 17th century British diarist, is also understood to have been among its visitors.
The restaurant opened to the public in September, and 7 stunning bedrooms opened on January 18th 2023. The restaurant is housed in a capacious new beamed dining room, constructed with local oak that was cut and shaped to size on site with a local carpenter and features a stunning open fire place. With glass walls on both sides, every guest can enjoy views over the stunning gardens and terraces.
