Hollaway are extremely proud to announce that Elwick Place Phase 2 has been approved unanimously at Committee.
The same team that delivered the transformational regeneration scheme for Elwick Phase 1, which has enlivened the end of the High Street and night-time economy for Ashford, have paired with Sunningdale and a common aspiration to deliver a high quality residential scheme that sets the benchmark for all future Ashford developments.
The 200 unit proposal not only provides a unique mixture of tenure from entry level first-time buyer options to luxurious rooftop 3bed penthouse apartments, it offers the ground floor back to the street scene almost entirely through super-lounges, live/work/co-share & bookable event spaces, residents’ gym, café and permeable views through to two high quality landscape courtyards spaces serving each individual building, reinforcing the success and active frontage of Phase 1.
Sunningdale are committed to sustainability and sustainable travel. Through fully electric and innovative proposals the development looks to deliver a 40% improvement on current Part L requirements, 1:1 bicycle storage and 1:1 parking are supplemented by immediate provision of 50% electric car-charging spaces and with electrical capacity secured and passive infrastructure installed for the remaining spaces to be upgraded should this become a requirement for residents in the future.
Additionally the development will supply and provide 2 on-site electric car-club cars for use by residents.
Members were equally enthused by this unique opportunity to set the standards for Ashford’s future developments coming forward and Guy’s passion when speaking at Committee which were both remarked upon.
The scheme combines our innovative approach to design and commitment to sustainability, which has been critical in the design evolution and results in a scheme that will stand the test of time. Having been the architects for both phase 1 and 2, we have great pleasure in bringing forward these detailed designs.
As a practice we also look forward to the continued regeneration of Ashford through the realization of Newtown Works and our plans for Bromptons new Global HQ, due for completion 2027.
